Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteers Needed
WUIS is looking for volunteer receptionists. A commitment of as little as 4.5 hours weekly. Duties include: front desk reception consisting of routing phone calls and greeting guests, clerical assistance as needed (stuffing envelopes, etc.), assistance with fund drives, events and special projects. Email your interest and indicate the day(s) and shifts you are available to volunteer: Weekday afternoons: 12:30 - 5:00 p.m.
- During fund drives, WUIS needs passionate listeners to share their love for the programs and news and make the case for listeners to invest in and informed community. If you are interested in doing a volunteer pitch shift, email us at volunteer@wuis.org.
- WUIS sponsors special events throughout the year, and you can help out! We sponsor booths at various musical venues and it’s a great time to hear some live music and spread the word about the great music on WUIS. If you’re interested in helping out at a special event, please contact WUIS at volunteer@wuis.org.
- WUIS Radio Information Service (RIS), a reading service for the print impaired, is always in need of volunteer readers. We air many local newspapers and several different magazines. The majority of programs run for either a half hour or an hour, and can be taped ahead of time to fit your schedule. Requirements for volunteers are a clear pleasant reading voice, and dedication. Training on recording will be provided. Offer your services as an RIS Volunteer by completing this form
