Q: What is the Calendar Club?

A: The WUIS Calendar Club is our sustaining membership program. You choose a monthly amount to give and an automatic, electronic credit, debit card or electronic funds transfer (EFT) is made each month until you ask for it to be changed (University of Illinois employees can opt for payroll deduction). No renewal notices. No forgetting. It is that easy.

Q: Why is a Calendar Club gift more efficient?

A: Sustained giving is proving to be a best-practice in supporting non-profit organizations. The continuing monthly donation aspect of the WUIS Calendar Club has the potential to reduce the length of pledge drives. Because less time and money will need to be focused on renewing members, we can concentrate on enlisting new member support. Less mail is environmentally friendly and less processing saves limited staff time.

Q: How can I change or cancel my Calendar Club membership?

A: You can choose to increase, decrease or suspend your monthly gift at any time you choose by creating a new WUIS Calendar Club pledge entering the total monthly amount you now want to give. Include the note: "This replaces my current commitment." If you opt for EFT, you will need to print and complete a new form and mail it. Please contact WUIS at calendarclub@WUIS.org or call (217) 206-WUIS (9847) for assistance. Credit Card changes occur within seven days, EFT and payroll changes can take up to 30 days to occur.

For instance, if you want to increase your monthly gift by $5 each month:

• Existing Pledge: $15/month
• Enter New Pledge As: $20/month

Q: What are the WUIS Calendar Club benefits? (sent each February)

• Tax deductible (check with your tax advisor). You will receive a statement for your taxes.
  
• A WUIS MemberCard (good for local dining discounts and more).
  
• A collectible WUIS Calendar Club calendar. 
  
• All benefits offered at the annual level of your gift (Cornerstone, Day Sponsor, etc.).
• Exclusive contests and event opportunities (with valid email address).
  
• The acknowledgment that you support WUIS' mission to provide public radio programming, journalism and community building to Central Illinois.
  

Q: How do I join?

A: Joining the WUIS Calendar Club is the most efficient way to support public radio programming and journalism in Central Illinois. Consider the amount you plan to give WUIS during the pledge drives and at other times over the next year, then divide by 12 for your monthly donation amount. If you prefer, a one-time gift is still very important and welcome.

Q: Am I still eligible for thank you gifts?

A: Yes, when you set up your WUIS Calendar Club donation, you are still eligible for thank you gifts. If during one of our pledge drives, you hear of a gift that interests you, call WUIS’ Membership Department at (217) 206-WUIS (9847), or email us at calendarclub@WUIS.org. You are eligible to receive thank-you gifts offered at the pledge level equal to your total donations for WUIS' fiscal year (July-June). For example, iIf you pledge $20 monthly, you are eligible for a thank you gift offered at the $240 pledge level, like a day sponsorship.)

Q: What if my credit card expires or changes?

A: If your credit card expires or changes please call WUIS' Membership Department at (217) 206-WUIS (9847). We cannot currently accept credit card changes online.

Q: How will the charge appear on my credit card statements?

A: The debit or charge transaction each month is listed as UNIV OF IL FOUNDATION URBANA IL UNIV OF IL FOUNDAT... The foundation provides in-kind processing services to WUIS. All of your contribution goes to support programs on WUIS.
