The Real Agenda from Marketplace
Election
day is November 7th, and the politicians are buying ads
and making speeches. But are they talking about what voters
care about? Marketplace
decided to find out. We're calling our month-long election coverage "The
Real Agenda." Sure, Americans care about the big campaign issues – the war in Iraq, gas prices,
healthcare, and immigration. But they also care about issues that aren't
getting much play in Washington – the "crunched" middle class, the environment, government accountability and more. During the
month of October, you'll hear reported stories on states grappling with
these issues, host interviews, and commentary on the Real Agenda. We've
also asked Marketplace commentators Robert Reich and David Frum to debate
some of the possible solutions. After all, The Real Agenda is your agenda.
