12 women who changed Springfield

Skirting Convention is an Oral History Project.
The series, produced at WUIS, involves interviews with twelve pioneering women. WUIS is working to preserve the words of these women, recording their voices as they discuss the work that they’ve done and the sacrifices they’ve made in their struggles for change. The efforts of these women to change Springfield earned them the respect of the community.

Listen to this series, created by a grant from the IHC, to learn more about the women who helped shape Illinois's capital city.
