Visitors to the Logan County community of Mt. Pulaski can now view a newly commissioned outdoor mural created to commemorate Abraham Lincoln's work in that community in the 1840's while serving as a lawyer riding circuit in the 8th judicial district.

The artist's story is an interesting one. David Webster says he began drawing as soon as he was able to pick up a pencil. Early educational experiences led him to pursue a career in Art and he studied briefly at the Academy of Art in Chicago.

But as gifted as he was, he said something was missing in his life. After suffering a heart attack at age 27 from drug and alcohol abuse, he experienced a religious conversion. He became involved in home missionary work and ultimately returned to Art both as a means of recovery and as an expression of his faith.
